Salmon is not only a great source of essential fat known as omega-3, it also has its own antioxidants. Antioxidants help to fight off free radicals which can cause disease and cell death. When selecting the pizza base if you can opt for a wholegrain variety you will be providing your body with more fibre, vitamins, and minerals than the refined varieties. This includes B vitamins which are needed for your body to make energy from the food which you eat.

Red onion contains quercetin which is a compound known to support optimal immune function. Garlic also supports your immune function with a liquid with antibacterial properties called allicin.

Thyme leaves are a great source of vitamin C as well as iron and vitamin A. Processed tomatoes like that found in the tomato paste has a more bioavailable source of lycopene. Lycopene supports your heart and prostate health as well as may reduce your risk of certain cancers. Chilli adds more antioxidants as well as a short metabolic boost to the meal.
Mozzarella adds more protein to the meal to keep you feeling fuller for longer as well as calcium. Calcium is needed for normal muscle contractions as well as to keep your bones and teeth strong. Extra virgin olive oil is a king of all oils as it not only contains a heart-healthy monounsaturated fat it also contains 36 different antioxidants. Make sure you save to this recipe.
